New Development And Subdivisions On Flat Rock Road East End Louisville
Flat Rock Road has some east end Louisville history and character. Some of the original homes dating back to the mid to late 60's, and many of those homes sitting on 5 acre tracts, mostly covered with wooded landscape and even some with ponds. Flat Rock is located on the east side of Middletown in Eastwood and runs primarily north/ south, connecting US 60 to Aiken rd. and Bush Farm rd., eventually ending up at the Old Henry exit off the Gene Snyder. The length of Flat Rock stretches for approximately 4 miles, and even though most of the road front property was bought up and developed early on, there was more than plenty of land left to be developed, which has been happening for the last 20 plus years. Long Run Park and The Parklands at Floyds Fork are near by to enjoy many outdoor activities. Many new Middletown subdivisions started coming up through the 90's and Flat Rock had a few of them, not to mention, one of largest east end Louisville subdivision developments, Lake Forest, is very near by off Aiken rd. Coventry Place is located on the right as you turn off of US 60, or Shelbyville Rd., onto Flat Rock. It's a small development, only having around 20 or so homes. Kilcott Way is the main entrance into the subdivision, Kilcott court is the only other road that makes up Coventry Place. Gardner Park is also located just off US 60 as you turn onto Flat Rock rd. but it is on the opposite side, almost directly accross from Coventry Place. It's a unique community as it was inspired by the Cotwolds, Close to London England. You can definitely notice the distinct English charm as you drive through. The land of Gardiner Park was altered many years prior to real estate development. Man made lake and addition of many trees and landscaping made for a much more attrative setting. Glen Lakes has some new development going on. A new section has been opened up giving plenty of new tracts ready to build. Currently there are new construction homes for sale, along with some previously owned homes for sale in the older portion of Glen Lakes Subdivision. Average cost of homes are ranging in the 300k to 350k and each lot is roughly somewhere around .25 of an acre. One thing that makes glen Lakes and other subdivisions on Flat Rock so attractive is the wooded terrain with valleys and beautiful landscaping. Many backyards will have some privacy with a tree line. Flat Rock Ridge is a fast growing development that brings a more economically priced home to the area. Ball Homes, the developer of Flat Rock Ridge, is currently under way to add a large number of new homes to the subdivision. Prices staring in the 220k's and ranging up to the near 300k's. Polo Fields is a golf and country club community that was developed in the 90's. It was designed with the family in mind, giving plenty of outdoor activities to engage in. The average cost of homes range from 300k's up to 600k's plus. Polo Fields is a rather larger subdivison and has been a successful development, so much that there has been other spin off developments and patio homes or condos.
